Shittu, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Victor Oluwadamilare, said, “Human factor and lack of strong institution has been one of the biggest reasons limitations for fighting cybercrime in Nigeria, but now government has come up with modalities to strengthen agencies and institutions to combat cybercrime.” CEO of Computer Warehouse Group Plc, Austin Okere, said to curb cybercrime, a repository centre for cyber-attacks should be created so that cybercrime cases were analysed and prevented. He also charged banks and other financial institutions to report cybercrime, as well as inform people on what they needed to know about cybercrime. “I am happy that NITDA is collaborating with the government of Malaysia and Canada to establish a cyber security centre in Nigeria to curb cyber crime as it is a topic that needs vigilance” he said.]]>
