RIVERS State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has said that his administration will not allow the judiciary to be shut down at will by politicians. Wike, who spoke on Monday during a special appearance on Channels Sunrise Daily, explained that as a governor, it was his duty to ensure that the state was safe for business. The governor was making reference to the recent shooting and fracas at the Rivers State High Court involving some members of the All Progressives Congress. He said that the failed attempt to block Rivers High Court was implemented by the Police and the APC, stating that he mobilised Rivers youths to resist the illegality. Wike said, “Nobody will be allowed to close down the judiciary. The judiciary is the most important arm of government. “It is my duty to make sure that the state is safe for business. They were trying to give an impression that the judiciary could be shut down at will.” The governor stated that despite deliberate distractions from the Federal Government, his administration had achieved significant milestones in the delivery of projects.]]>
