The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has issued an official query to Mairiga Hassan Shahru, a Land Resource Officer I with the Department of Land Administration, over allegations of serious misconduct linked to a leaked land allocation scandal involving the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike.

According to the query dated July 4, 2025, and signed by Uzo Udegbunam J., Acting Director of Administration for the Director of Land Administration, Mairiga is accused of:

  1. Unauthorized disclosure of official information in violation of Public Service Rules (PSR) 100401 and 100402(j);
  2. Breaching the oath of secrecy sworn upon assumption of duty, contrary to PSR 100402(o);
  3. Conduct unbecoming of a public officer under PSR 100402(aa), undermining the integrity and confidentiality required of his office.

The FCTA noted that these acts amount to serious misconduct that could tarnish the image of the public service. Mairiga was given 24 hours to submit a written defence or face disciplinary action.

The query comes amid growing public outrage following revelations that the FCDA allegedly allocated over 2,500 hectares of farmland in Abuja to Jordan Wike, the 29-year-old son of the FCT Minister.
