Subsidy fraud: Jonathan reacts to ex-EFCC boss, Farida Waziri’s claims

Waziri had claimed that while in office, she arrested a suspect involved in oil subsidy scam and that immediately, she got a call from the Presidential villa, asking her to “release the suspect, because, in their words, ‘he is our person.” The former EFCC boss claimed that her refusal to release the suspect led to her removal from office few days later. However, Jonathan in his reaction, described Farida’s claim as “lies.” Jonathan challenged the former EFCC boss to disclose the identity of the person or company she was investigating then that led to her removal.
