TheNigerialawyer in an exclusive chat with the student president yesterday. According to Mr. Atanda, there was never a time the lecturer by name Mr. Ahmed Onikosi ever asked students of the 300 level to kneel down; rather what happened was that a test was given in which many of the students failed. Since there is the likelihood that the mass failure will affect the grades of the students, the students had no other choice than to beg the lecturer for a make-up test. “Yes, Mr. Onikosi is known for making reference to Malaysia in his lecturers, but that does not mean he ever violated our dignity. That’s not true. The lecturer never asked us at anytime to kneel down by the hallway side”, he said. TheNigerialawyer recalls that a publication was made with the caption: “300 Level Students ordered by lecturer to kneel down outside class at Al-Hikmah University” in which an undisclosed source accused Mr. Ahmed Onikosi of punishing the 300 Level students of the university, after a student who raised his voice at the lecturer failed to identify himself. The source also added that the lecturer insulted the students by calling them ‘locals’ which was said to be his routine.]]>
