RESTRICTION ON MARRIED WOMEN JOINING THE POLICE FORCE etc

In Nigeria,

(1) A married woman cannot join the Police Force.

(2) An unmarried female Police Officer who becomes pregnant shall be discharged from the Force.

Recently, A Bill seeking to expunge these sections of the Police Act that are discriminatory to female officers passed Second Reading at the Senate.
