Odinkalu said this on Twitter while responding to a trending video showing the wife of the ruling All Progressives Congress National Leader accusing Igbo of not voting for President Muhammadu Buhari during the February 23 presidential and National Assembly elections. The activist expressed surprise that the senator representing Lagos Central at the Senate could “sink this low.” Odinkalu had tweeted:

In a video which has since gone viral, Mrs. Tinubu, who is the wife of APC stalwart, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is seen bantering with a physically challenged Igbo man, accusing his tribe of failing the APC. The video has caused an uproar on social media, garnering thousands of retweets and comments within hours. The incident comes amid allegations that the APC sponsored violence within communities dominated by Igbo in a bid to prevent them from voting for the Peoples Democratic Party. Of the 20 local government areas in Lagos State, five are said to have high Igbo voting population. The LGs are: Surulere, Ajeromi/Ifelodun, Ojo, Amuwo Odofin and Oshodi/Isolo.]]>
