The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, has announced a ban on demonstrations by Shiite group Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in the country.

The IGP said any member of the group that violates the order would be treated as a terrorist.

Adamu gave the order at a meeting with top police officers holding at the force headquarters in Abuja.

“Henceforth, persons belonging to the IMN who engage in illegal processions and protests would be treated as a terrorists and enemy of the state and be brought to justice,” Adamu said.
