In Nigeria, it is an offence to Sell or Buy the Voters Card issued by Independent National Electoral Commission.

PENALTY
Fine of 500,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 2 years or both.

Prior to the November 16, 2019 Gubernatorial elections in Kogi and Bayelsa, an election observation group, YIAGA Africa, disclosed that voters in Bayelsa and Kogi states traded their permanent voters’ cards for N500 and N1,000.
