Senator Gyang died of kidney related disease in India according to a family source. Mr. Pwajok, a former senator, was the governorship candidate of the PDP in the 2015 general election. He narrowly lost the election to Simon Lalong of the All Progressives Congress. He was also the immediate past senator for Plateau northern senatorial district. Mr. Pwajok succeeded late Senator Gyang Dantong, who died of shock while attending a mass burial of persons killed by insurgents in Barkinladi in 2012.
