A statement on Tuesday said a chieftain of the party and Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Kehinde Bamigbetan, spoke at the inauguration of the party’s campaign at the Ejigbo mini-stadium, Ejigbo, Lagos. Bamigbetan, who is also the leader of the Mandate Movement, an arm of the APC, said the group was mobilising thousands of supporters for President Muhammadu Buhari; and the governorship candidate of the party, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, among others. He said the group was aware of campaigns against the APC on radio, television and newspapers, adding that opposition parties wanted to give the public a wrong impression about the party. “We want to assure you that all these antics are the efforts of the cobweb that says it will not allow an elephant to pass. As our people say, even if it is predicted that an animal with horns will knock one to death, it cannot be the ambition of a snail,” he said. He said although the APC had more than enough to convince Ejigbo residents to vote for the party on February 16 and March 2, party supporters could not sit at home and expect miracles on the election days. “It is a collective work that will continue day and night until victory is achieved. Our task is to get out the vote by visiting voters and persuading them that the APC is still the best choice for them,” he said.]]>
