The Bauchi State branch of Nigeria Bar Association, NBA has rejected the order given by its national leadership to boycott Courts sittings in protest of the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari over corruption allegations.

In a statement, signed by its state chairman and secretary, Barrister M.M Maidoki and A.S Gumba respectively, the NBA stated that the directive given by the national body was uncalled for.

TheNigerialawyer observed that while some complied, others ignored the directive. In Benue State, all the courtrooms at the state high court complex, and federal high court were empty.

J.K. Ishember Esq., chairman of the association, led senior members of the branch to ensure compliance with the directive.
