Ondo Govt Approves Creation Of Department Of Legal Services In Ministries, Departments And Agencies.

The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN has approved the establishment of Department of Legal Services in all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) in Ondo State.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Adenike Akinbosade, the personal assistant to the Hon. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ondo state.

The Department of Legal Services is in line with the REDEEMED AGENDA of Governor Akeredolu SAN Government which emphasizes EFFICIENT SERVICE DELIVERY AND POLICY IMPLEMENTATION.

The Department of Legal services established by Ondo State Government in MDAs is under the direct supervision of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Sir Charles Titiloye, TheNigerialawyer, gathered.

According to the statement, the Departments of Legal Services are to ensure that the MDAs comply with provisions of law and request regularly from the office of the Attorney General, legal advice in respect of government policies during implementation.

This will reduce unnecessary litigations and delay in filing of Court processes and defence of litigation against the Government. Also, it will, in the long term, put an end to unnecessary liability incurred by Government through grants by Courts of monetary claims against the Government.

This ultimately will reduce judgment debts against Government and the concomitant reduction of cost of governance, thus freeing up state funds for implementation of laudable projects beneficial to the people of Ondo State.

Consequent upon the foregoing, the Hon. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Ondo State, Sir Charles Titiloye has deployed nine (9) Directors from the Ministry of Justice for the commencement of Department of Legal Services in the MDAs.
