The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the opening of its online portal begging from tomorrow Tuesday to enable prospective corps members to register for the 2018 Batch B mobilization exercise. The Scheme, according to information available on its website, advised prospective corps members, who are graduates from universities and mono/polytechnics both at home and abroad to commence the online registration within six days beginning from Tuesday 10th July to Monday, 16th July 2018. NYSC gave its official website address as www.nysc.gov.ng and registration portal at www.nysc.org.ng to enable qualified young school graduates to perform a seamless registration. The Scheme directed prospective corps members to keep a functional e-mail address and GSM telephone number that are accessible to facilitate easy registration and maintained throughout the service year. It directed locally-trained prospective corps members are expected to use correct institution matriculation numbers to register, saying that only those whose names appear on the Senate/academic board approved result lists submitted by their institutions will have access to register on the NYSC portal. In addition, foreign-trained prospective corps members are advised to note that only those that graduated from accredited institutions are qualified for mobilization, adding that those in doubt on the accreditation status of the institution attended should approach the Federal Ministry of Education for verification. “Foreign-trained Nigerian graduates are to visit the NYSC portal, register and upload the following documents: West African School Certificate (WASC), General Certificate of Education (GCE O’ Level), NECO, NABTEB or its equivalent or High School Diploma or its equivalent for those who attended school in the USA and others. “Complete official transcript of the First Degree or HND programme. International travelling passport showing the following pages; personal data, visa to the country of study, date of the first departure to the country of study and date of arrival in Nigeria,” the statement added. NYSC advised graduates with dual nationalities to upload Personal Data Pages of both international passports and present the passports for physical verification at the orientation camp and urged prospective corps members that studied in non-English speaking countries to get their Certificates and Transcripts translated into the English Language before uploading. It directed all graduates of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Optometry, Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing and Pharmacy are expected to have their practicing license, Certificates of Registration with their professional bodies and upload same on the portal, saying that payment receipts are not acceptable. “All foreign-trained prospective Corps Members who registered but were not called up for service in the last batch should log on to the NYSC portal to revalidate their registration. This category of persons need not pay N3,000 (three thousand naira) again. “Anybody who presents any fake document will be demobilized, decamped and handed over to the security agents,” NYSC warned.]]>
