NBA Ota Elects Isaac.O Ogbah As Chair

Isaac.O Ogbah at the recently concluded election of the Ota branch of NBA emerged the chairman of the branch. The election which was keenly contested on 23rd of July 2018 recorded that 170 qualified voters registered for the election while only 120 accredited voters were present for the election. Isaac.O Ogbah Esq emerged winner with 62 votes while his opponent J.T Ogunniyi’s got 57 votes. For the position of Secretary, Abraham Pius polled 63 votes as against Mr Niyi Ogunwale who polled 57 votes. This was stated according to the electoral committee chairman Elder Simon Ameh, made available to The Nigeria Lawyer (TNL) Before the election there were four contestants for the chairmanship position. Two of the contestants, Bayo Adesanya and Mr Lekan Daramola at the polling centre announced their withdrawal from the race for the interest of J.T Oguniyi. The position for the office of the Vice chairman was also keenly contested by 2 contestants and at the end of the election I.O Akinfewa emerged winner with 73 votes as against 45 votes from Mr Leke Adeniran Five (5) elective positions were declared unopposed which comprises as follows: Welfare Secretary: Mrs. Toyin Taiwo; Financial Secretarty: Mr. Adekunle Abdusabur; Treasurer: Mrs. R. E. Itua; Social Secretary: Mr. Ayo Martins PRO: Mrs. Love Ibem. Elder Simon Ameh and Akinola Sanni emerged as the Chairman and Secretary respectively of the electoral committee The election was said to be free and fair as all the 120 members present at the election venue including Senior Advocate of Nigeria Designate Chief Seun Akinbiyi exercised their franchise without fear or favour..
