The Chairman who disclosed this, informed us that the aim of this scheme is to make it possible and easier for members to pay their dues and levies without going to the banking hall as well as making a second journey to the branch office to obtain their receipts. According to him, all that is required of the members is to visit the site www.nbalagos.org.ng log in, register their details by providing their names, valid e-mail addresses and functional GSM telephone numbers and then proceed to pay with their debit or credit cards. After which an acknowledgment of payment will automatically be sent to their provided e-mail. Another advantage of the scheme is that, it will allow the branch to compile an up-to-date and authentic online register of its members thereby making dissemination of information online seamless. He further highlighted that the idea of online payment will phase out the printing and photocopying of notices and minutes of monthly meetings which will begin on the 9th of January, 2017. All notices and minutes will be sent electronically. Members will by e-mail receive notices and minutes at least 48 hours before the meeting and members are free to print their copies or view online. According to him, the branch will embark on a project of building their secretariat located at 169 Igbosere Road, Lagos. The work will start with controlled demolition of the existing building on the site, then laying of the foundation. Various categories of levies that will be paid by members for this project as mandated in 2016 at the general meeting will be announced on the 9th of January, 2017 at the general meeting that will take place by 1.00pm at Foyer of the High Court. ]]>
