The PASAN and NASC staff have also given the National Assembly management two weeks ultimatum to address their grievances or they will embark on indefinite strike. The strike, which will start on the 14th of December if the conditions are not meant will be total and indefinite, the staff warned. The staff, which pointed out that the issues bordering on Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS), called on the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara to urgently take a step to nominate the would-be members of the NASC for appointment. The staff, in their communique signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Bature Musa and Suleiman Haruna respectively, said that “all pending staff promotions and conversion letters be released with areas due fully paid, while the 2018 promotion eligibility list be released and promotion exams conducted on or before 31 December.” The staff also said that retired officers still at duty post to quit immediately and also that the management should stop using consultants for jobs the staff can do. NASC staff on the other hand noted that while the demand for capacity building exercises duly meant for the staff are not implemented, management is spending about N40 million for itself on tour. The staff noted that those, who passed the 2018 promotion examinations have not started receiving reviewed salaries, adding that allowances have not been paid and their entitlements have been denied and also called for review of condition of services. The staff demanded for full implementation of their grievances, warning that failure to implement their resolutions, they would have no option than to embark on indefinite strike starting from on the 14 of this month.]]>
