The two legislative chambers resumed sitting on Wednesday but subsequently adjourned till Thursday, over the death of Abayomi Ayeola, a member of the house of representatives. Ayeola, who represented Ibeju Lekki federal constituency in Lagos state, died in December after a brief illness. He was the leader of the Lagos caucus at the lower legislative chamber and had just picked the ticket to return for a third term in office. Both the senate and the house of representatives adjourned at different times after holding respective prayer sessions for him.
