INEC had declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Abdullahi Sule, winner of the governorship election. But speaking to Channels Television on Thursday, Ombugadu alleged that the election was characterised by rigging. While faulting INEC for the declaration of result, he expressed confidence that the judiciary will help him retrieve the peoples’ mandate. “I want to express total confidence in the judiciary, I believe the judiciary will do justice to what has happened in Nasarawa state and the peoples’ mandate that was stolen will be recovered through the legitimate process,” he said. But reacting to the allegation, the governor-elect, Sule says he is satisfied with his victory having won with a landslide. “We have no doubt in mind that whatever we did, we did the right thing. We have no doubt in mind that we have won by a landslide where we won with a margin over of over 155,000 votes to his total of just 180,000 votes. “We won in 11 out of the 13 local government areas and the contender did not win in any local government area. If all that is not enough and he wants to go to court, we wish him well in the line that he wants to take.”]]>
