It was gathered that the state’s revenue generating agencies such as the Nasarawa State Board of Internal Revenue and the Nasarawa Geographic Information Service indicated that the total IGR of the state put between N350m and N400m in previous months before strike had declined to a little above N100m. Our correspondent learnt that the NGIS, which had been generating revenue for the state from land administration and the state Board of Internal Revenue Service were badly hit by the decline in revenue generation during the two months of the industrial action. It was gathered that the inability of the state revenue board to also collect the expected income from shop owners, institutions, corporate bodies and other business outlets across the state had been pronounced due to the strike because the junior members of staff had abandoned their duty posts.]]>
