The 26th President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chief Okey Wali, SAN has described his late elder brother, late Michael Wali as a rare and unique brother. He described the shocking demise of his brother as a big blow to not only his immediate family, but everyone who knew him as he was a man whose love knew no bounds or generational gap.

He made this position known, when the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Bar Association, Eastern Bar Forum, Soseipreye Long Williams, Esq, led members of the Council and some Chairmen and Chairpersons of the NBA Branches in Rivers State on a condolence visit to the former President whose brother passed on Friday, 8th November, 2019

According to Chief Okey Wali,” Mike was a different kind of person, who made friends easily and protected me from a lot. With him, there was nothing like siblings rivalry as he was very happy and comfortable for me to succeed.

S. Long Williams, Esq who presented a condolence message on behalf of the Council and members of the Forum informed the learned silk that the members who were in Port Harcourt for the last quarterly meeting of the Forum, deemed it fit to visit the former President who he described as not only a Bar leader in the country, one of the pillars of the Forum to commiserate with him on the demise of his brother.

According to the Governor of the Forum, ”the EBF shared in his moment of grief and was there to condole him and members of his family.

He described the late Mike Wali as a perfect gentleman, who was loved by his kiths and kins, stressing that his demise has left a great vacuum and asked the Almighty to grant the deceased eternal rest and his family the fortitude to bear the great loss.

Chief Wali,thanked the EBF team for making out time to visit him and sharing in his grief. He said that the visit reflected one of the essences of the Forum as one that looks out for the welfare and interest of her members.
