Omale said that his father-in-law told him after losing his job in a bank that he never wanted him as a son-in-law. He said that the union which was consummated two years ago was blessed with a son. Omale, a former staff of Access Bank, told the court that he was financially responsible for his estranged wife’s, Sarah education at the University of Ibadan. “I paid for her tuition from the first year to her final year at the university, the bank statements are there for you to see. “For more clarification you can check Access Bank and Sterling Bank statements. “I took good care of her, and her parents are aware of that. For her dad to say that he never wanted me as a son-in-law means the whole family defrauded me. “The whole members of her family benefited from my generosity, it’s fraudulent when you collect gifts from a suitor knowing that you never accepted him fully. “Now that I’m jobless, the man is saying that he never want me as a son-in-law, that is fraudulent,’’ he said. The petitioner, Sarah had urged the court to dissolve the marriage for alleged philandering nature of her husband. Sarah told the court that all the expenses incurred on her by the respondent was normal in any relationship. “His only crying foul because I can’t continue to put up with his philandering nature, I’m not the only woman he gives money. “There are several other women he gives money to, when we were dating, so whatever he spends on me is normal in any relationship. “He did not finance my education. How could he, when he has so many girlfriend and sugar mummy. “There was nothing I did that was good enough for him. “When I started working I gave him N50,000 to repair his car so that he can use it for car hire but he refused to collect it. “He keeps comparing me to other women, saying that I do not help him enough financially. “Whenever I gave him money for specific needs, he usually diverts it for other use that I’m not aware of,’’ she said. The President of the court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, adjourned the case till Feb. 29 for further hearing.]]>
