In a press briefing on Thursday, Tietie issued a seven days ultimatum after which he will seek an order of mandamus to compel the authorities to investigate the shooting and make the report public. Tietie said it would be dangerous for the safety of the farming communities in the state if the police show it has taken sides in the dispute. Three farmers in Ososo Kingdom in Edo State identified as Ayeodogba Tanimola Jerry, 26; and Sunday Afele, 28, were fatally shot on July 5 by persons believed to be policemen attached to Okene Area Command in Kogi State. The third person, Yusuf Yazeed, 28, escaped alive. The owner of Sunlite Integrated Services Ltd, where the victims worked before the incident, Fred Attah, and the Agebhori of Ososo, Prince Momoh said the community had some dispute with an Ebira boundary community of Kogi State and farm encroachment issues with some Fulani herdsmen, explaining that both issues were resolved peacefully.
