Secretary of the Bwari branch of the NBA, Mr FELIX Ashimole Popularly called “Che Oyinatumba” has condemned the collection of 10% of filing fees paid by litigants, by the FCT judiciary in conjunction with a private firm, YWC Technologies Ltd, without corresponding services delivered.
“FCT Judiciary in concert with a private firm, YWC Technologies Limited, is collecting 10% of the filing fees paid by litigants.
“To worsen it, it is only Aso Savings & Loan PLC, located at the basement of FCT High Court Complex Maitama that is used for collection of revenue. There is enough spaces for other banks to open up shop and break this monopoly of corruption going on.
The staff of this Aso Savings & Loan PLC, do not come to work before 8:30 AM.
“Interesting, I also noticed that staff of FCT Judiciary, are hardly on their seat before 9AM, except main open court clerks.
The nagging question remains: Who owns YWC Technologies Limited? Was there a bidding before it was given monopoly of collecting 10%? I have not benefited from any internet/online services by the FCT Judiciary: should this collection of 10% continue?,” he asked.
