The three brothers were arraigned on a three-count in charge No MOR/95c/2015 of stealing title documents as well as intent to defraud and conceal the documents which are evidence of the title of late Engr Amaye, an offence punishable under Sections 516, 390 (9) and 393 of Criminal Code. The first Prosecution Witness, Mrs Roli Ogbodu Akperi, nee Amaye told the court that trouble started when her father suddenly accused her and her mother of stealing his title documents of all his landed property contained therein in a big brown envelope from his bedroom after the burial ceremony of her late elder brother, Augustus, on May 2005 at their No. 4 Ikeke Street residence Off Agho in Benin City. Continuing, she said, “My father was very angry with us to the extent that he formally reported it at the Evbuotubu Police Station in Benin and threatened to throw my mother out of the house if he did not find the documents. He also went to my office and asked them to reprimand and sack me from work.”]]>
