The Law Students Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN) has introduced Town Hall meetings as a way of fostering communication between the leadership of LAWSAN and law students nationwide.
According to a statement signed by Umoh Edet, the National Director of Policies, Projects and Programmes made available to TheNigeraLawyer (TNL), the Town Hall meeting is a way of promoting the participation of LAWSANites in their governance and making the leaders accountable to the people they serve. He
“This initiative will be implemented in every zone and the town hall meetings for the other zones will hold subsequently this month
“A Fiscal Policy will be discussed so as to enumerate ways by which the LAWSAN government will be funded so as to promote better service
“The leadership of LAWSAN is committed to inclusion of law students nationwide and creating direct impact through the Directorate of Policies, Projects and Programmes,” Umoh Edet said
The first Town Hall meeting will be held at the 15th NAMLAS Conference holding at Bayero University, Kano. The schedule is as follows:
North East, North Central, North West
Date: Thursday 14th November 2019
Time: 4pm
Venue: Bayero University, Kano State
All Lawsanites in the above region are expected to come and participate.
