The AG also charged the Justice ministry to ensure prompt responses to State matters when discharging it’s various responsibilities such as rendering legal and advisory services to MDAs. ‎ He made the charge in a statement signed by Deputy Director of Public Relation, ministry of Justice, Mrs Bola Akingbade. He tasked ‎law officers be up to date, adopt international best practices and follow trends in advanced countries. “Law officers in other MDAs must ensure that they liaise with the Ministry of Justice and as well respond to requests made on State matters within time in order to portray, promote and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Ministry”, he said. Mr. Kazeem also reiterated the fact that if lawyers were given all necessary information to keep them abreast of the facts of cases and are given necessary documents to assist them, more judgments would possibly be delivered in favour of the State thereby reducing the financial burden on the State Government. He further stated that the Justice Sector in the State must always lead in its justice delivery system. He added that all hands must be on deck to make the State excel and promised to give them all necessary support needed to achieve the desired goals. In response, the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Mrs. Funlola Odunlami expressed happiness that an experienced and a well-seasoned Legal Practitioner was appointed the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
