The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State has reacted to the news about the resignation of the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Kebbi State, Rukkayat Tanko Ayuba. In an exclusive chat with news men, the deputy governor, Alhaji Samaila Yombe stated that the distinguished member of the body of benchers remains a commissioner with the Kebbi State government. ”There is no such thing as a resignation by any commissioner. The commissioner of justice still remains the Commissioner of Kebbi State”, he said. According to him, the only new fact is that there is going to be a cabinet reshuffling. ‘‘Indeed there is going to be a cabinet reshuffling, but that won’t affect the Commissioner.” Speaking further, he wondered where the rumour of the resignation emanated from. According to him, even the executive governor of Kebbi State was shocked at the news. ”The Excellency himself was astonished to hear of the matter. He asked if she actually resigned; whether there was any document submitted to that effect. I had to speak with her and confirmed that there was nothing of such.” Also in a chat with TheNigerialawyer, Mrs Rukkayat Tanko Ayuba stated that she remains the Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Kebbi State. TheNigerialawyer recalls that the Sun had earlier reported on Tuesday that Ayuba resigned over her suspension from office by the state governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.]]>
