Justice U John, the Publicly Secretary of the Young Lawyer’s Forum Lagos branch, has just been removed from office, TNL learnt. TheNigerialawyer (TNL) gathered that the said removal was done by the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Lagos branch, Mr. Chukwuka Ikwuazom. Information obtained shows that the removal was effected because Justice U John, was among the signatories to the petition written by some concerned young lawyers to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, over the alleged assault meted out against Mr. Karimu by some men of the Nigerian Police Force. TheNigerialawyer (TNL) recalls that some young lawyers had earlier petitioned the State Commissioner of Police, demanding for a public apology and the immediate suspension of the erring officers who are accused of assaulting Mr. Karimu on the behest of his employer. The petition which copied the Chairman of the Police service Commission and the Nigerian Inspector General of Police had Mr. Justice U John as one of the signatories.]]>
