The Governor of Nasarawa Umaru Almakura who was represented at the briefing by commissioner for Information Jamil Zakari, Justice and Education commissioner Aliyu Tijjani said, “This administration and well-meaning people frowns and considers the alleged abomination of the act of physical assault and attack on the person of the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State and disrupting the court proceedings by some of the JUSUN members. The state council supports whatever action the Judicial Service Commission and the Nasarawa state Judiciary would take against such staff.” The Commissioner of Justice Dr. Abdulkarim Kana said, “Governor Al-makura and his council has expressed disappointment with the strike action by judicial staff, without notifying the state Government or the Judiciary itself.” He said the state government was not informed of any staff grievances before embarking on strike “notice of strike action was issued, thereby the state government was not aware of the reasons for the strike.” It would be recalled that JUSUN, Nasarawa State Branch embarked on a strike action about three weeks ago which led to the non-activity in the judiciary, While armed policemen were seen guarding the premises.
