The matter continued with the Plaintiff calling his first witness by name, Pastor Emmanuel Oluwabiyi. PW1 in his testimony stated that the 2016 NBA election which brought A.B. Mahmoud SAN into office as President was marred with irregularities. According to him, the internet online voting was used for the 2016 NBA Election contrary to the NBA constitutional stipulation for electronic voting. PW1, Pastor Emmanuel Oluwabiyi was the only witness called before the court as the matter was adjourned to the 9th and 12th day of January 2018 for continuation of hearing. Leading the plaintiff’s team was Chief Sebastine Hon, SAN alongside J. N Egwuonwu, SAN. TheNigerialawyer recalls that an action was initiated by Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama SAN, OFR against the Incorporated Trustees of the Nigerian Bar Association & 8 Ors before Hon. Justice Adeniyi of Court 20, FCT High Court, Apo, challenging the validity of the 2016 NBA Presidential election. TheNigerialawyer also recalls that the plaintiff had earlier debunked a statement by the NBA to the effect that there was an ongoing reconciliation process between the plaintiff and the NBA.
