*Accuses U.S. Embassy Of Facilitating Ex-Wife’s Relocation With Daughters Without His Consent

Nigerian on-air personality Oladotun Ojuolape, better known as Do2dtun, has reignited a long-simmering custody battle by publicly accusing the United States Embassy in Nigeria of complicity in the alleged abduction of his two young daughters. In a series of emotional posts on X (formerly Twitter), Do2dtun claims the embassy facilitated his ex-wife’s relocation to the U.S. with the children three years ago, flouting a Nigerian court order and bypassing required parental consent.

The allegations, which surfaced prominently today, center on events from 2022, when Do2dtun says his estranged wife, Taiwo Oyebanjo, and her family, including her brother, singer D’Banj, denied him access to their daughters despite a Federal High Court granting him joint custody. Do2dtun, who hosted shows on stations like Cool FM and Fly FM before going independent, detailed how the children were spirited away amid ongoing divorce proceedings.

According to Do2dtun, a standing court injunction explicitly barred either parent from removing the girls from Nigeria without mutual consent. He asserts that he held the children’s original U.S. passports at the time, as the daughters are American citizens by birth—a status inherited from their mother’s previous marriage, though Taiwo herself is not a U.S. citizen.

In his posts, Do2dtun alleged that the U.S. Embassy issued replacement passports to the minors without notifying him or verifying his consent, contravening the embassy’s standard two-parent policy for such issuances. “The American embassy in Nigeria is an enabler of child abduction… very biased. No proper investigation,” he wrote, adding that he had “written for years and kept quiet for three years. It’s time.”

He went further to implicate former U.S. Consul-General Mary Beth Leonard, who served in Nigeria until 2023, in overseeing a “compromised and biased process.” Do2dtun speculated that documents may have been forged or manipulated to secure the passports, turning a domestic custody dispute into an international ordeal. “Even though my children are U.S. citizens, their mother is not. Issuing new passports without my consent or a court mandate shows a failure to protect the rights of a non-American father,” he stated.

Accompanying his accusations were photos purportedly showing U.S. officials posing with the children shortly before their departure. “This was the picture they took with my kids before they were abducted,” Do2dtun captioned one image, underscoring his frustration with the lack of transparency.

Do2dtun’s outburst extends beyond the embassy to critique systemic flaws in U.S. immigration practices. He questioned whether foreign court orders hold weight in American consular decisions, invoking President Biden’s (referred to as “@POTUS”) efforts to reform the immigration system. “When a court gives an order in a country, is it null and void just because someone can cook up the best lies? I feel it is apparent that whatever ‘@POTUS is trying to clean up in the immigration system is somewhat valid, especially for people that lie to gain access,” he posted.

He demanded an immediate “fair hearing” and the return of his children, emphasizing the emotional toll of the separation. “The priority of the children is very important, but have you for once thought or checked the extent people can go or lie to take kids out? Do you not need the consent of both parents to issue a passport? … It’s three years now, American embassy; where are my kids?”

The radio host also renewed claims against D’Banj and Taiwo’s family for obstructing his visitation rights, framing the incident as a deliberate effort to estrange him from his daughters.

As of this reporting, the U.S. Embassy in Lagos has not issued a public statement addressing Do2dtun’s claims. The embassy’s website outlines strict protocols for minor passport applications, requiring evidence of parental consent or court authorization in cases of dispute, but provides no comment on individual matters.
