The House of Representatives, on Sunday, suspended the constitutional amendment zonal public hearing scheduled for Tuesday due to the insecurity situation in the Imo State.
Chairman, House of Representatives’ Special Committee on Constitution Review, Hon Idris Wase, disclosed this in a statement on sunday.
According to the statement, the suspended Constitutional amendment zonal public hearing scheduled was scheduled to take place in Owerri Centre (Imo and Abia States), on Tuesday, 1st and Wednesday, June 2, 2021, was suspended until further notice.
Worried by the development, the Committee expressed its regrets for any inconveniences this might cause our esteemed invited guests, stakeholders and the general public.
Meanwhile, the scheduled zonal public hearing for other geopolitical zones are expected to commence, on Tuesday, at various centres.
