Innoson Motors has admitted that it provided false information on the Supreme Court ruling in the case against Guaranty Trust Bank. In a tweet on its Twitter page on Tuesday, the company said its earlier statement was a misinterpretation of the Supreme Court’s position. “The management of Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing want to bring to the attention of the public to the caption: *Supreme Court orders @gtbank to pay N14bn to Innoson made on its official Twitter handle,” it wrote. “The caption was a slight distortion of the information. “When the information came to our notice we had to correct the error made by the staff of the agency managing our social media accounts. We apologize for that misleading information.” https://twitter.com/innosonvehicles/status/1006114656463794176 In a statement on its Twitter handle, the company had claimed that the Supreme Court had ordered Guaranty Trust Bank to pay the judgement debt of N14 billion in an interest-yielding account for it. In a statement released on Monday to reassure its customers, GT Bank had denied Innoson’s statement. It said: “There was no directive or order issued by the Supreme Court of Nigeria to the bank to make any payment to any of its debtor customers. We again reiterate that there is no iota of truth in the falsehood being peddled by desperate and mischievous elements and the general public should disregard same in its entirety.”]]>
