Mr. Christian O. Scott-Emuakpor, one-time 2nd Vice-President, one-time 3rd Vice-President, one-time National Publicity Secretary, one-time National Financial Secretary, and one-time Chair, NBA Warri Branch; and one-time contestant for the office of president of the Nigerian Bar Association (against Mr. Charles Idehen). He was a major inspiration in my reading law and getting involved in the Bar Association. His sartorial dress sense, oratorical language skills and immense sense of justice stood him out as an advocate per excellence. C.O. Scott-Emuakpor, was a graduate in Broadcasting from Syracuse University, New York, and a newscaster of note with Radio Nigeria at the national level before reading Law at University of London and called to bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1979 and the Nigeria Law School in 1971. From the office of 2nd Vice President, he contested for the presidency of the NBA against Mr. Charles Idehen and lost. His legacy are the hundreds of counsel who passed through his outstanding tutelage as pupil counsel; and the principles of law he enunciated, duly captured in various law reports of his generation. He is survived by Mrs. Christie Scott-Emuakpor (nee Ekiyor) and seven children including one who is a lawyer.]]>
