HOW TO APPOINT CONTROLLER-GENERAL OF NIGERIAN CORRECTIONAL SERVICES.

In Nigeria, there is no Nigerian Prisons Service or a Controller-General for such since 2019. Now there is Nigerian Correctional Service replacing the Nigerian Prisons Service. The Nigerian Correctional Service is headed and led by a Controller-General.

Controller-General of Nigerian Correctional Service can only be appointed by President of Federal Republic of Nigeria upon the recommendation of the Board and confirmation by Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. An appointment to the office of Controller-General must be out of serving Assistant Controller-Generals.

My authorities are section 3 of the Nigerian Correctional Service Act, 2019.
