An Abuja based Registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) by name, ”Potential And Carrier Moulders Foundation of Nigeria”, has advised the UNN Governing Council and the Federal Government to consider people with a good character and sound CV for the position of the number one citizen of the University.

In a meeting of the Trustees and the management of the organization held in Abuja at their National Secretariat, yesterday, around 10:00am, the Director General of the organization by the name Apostle Anne Agbodike, has advised that University of Nigeria Nsukka being the First Indigenous University in Nigeria deserve the best hand to be considered as their Vice-Chancellor owing to the fact that the University has produced many sound professionals in Nigeria, and serve as one of the best citadel of learning in Africa at Large.

Furthermore, in support of the speech of the Director General of the NGO, the Secretary General and a Trustee member of the NGO Barr. Ifesi Nwodo suggested that if the Federal Government and the Governing Council will consider somebody like Prof. Denchrist Onah, it will make a whole lot of sense, owing to the fact that he has a sound curriculum vitae and has gathered enough experience to manage the office of the Vice Chancellor having been in the system for more than a decade.

The NGO advised that people should not politicize the said position, rather let it be given to a capable hand who will have the University at heart.

TNL recalls that the current Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba, will be leaving office after spending his five-year single tenure which will end on June 14, 2019.
