The governor’s alleged bribe-taking videos have become the rave of the moment since mid October when this newspapers began publishing the videos. At a gathering held at Government House, Kano, Mr Ganduje alluded to his predecessor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, saying some people thought the videos could give them votes not relating with the people. “They want to win the next election in a video,” Mr Ganduje said as the crowd in the hall burst into laughter. While demonstrating the counting of money with his hands, the governor added: “They are waiting to win election in a video, because they are imagining how ‘votes’ are counted in the video. “They foresaw that millions of votes are written to them. So they are relaxed without looking for the people, the youth because their marabout asked them not to look for anybody. ‘If you want to win election, there is video’. “So they are not looking for people, they neither go to sympathise with people, nor attend funeral, nor wedding ceremony. They also shun sympathy visit to our markets over fire incidents. Assistance (for the traders) was sought but they shied away because (they believe) everything could be attained through video.”]]>
