The governor of Yobe state, Ibrahim Gaidam on Wednesday in Damaturu swore in Karimatu Bulama and Musa Kachalla, as justices of the state High Court. Gaidam said that their appointment followed the recommendations of the National Judicial Council in conformity with sections 271(2) and 276 (2) of the 1999 Constitution as amended. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor enjoined the new judges to rededicate themselves and be committed to their responsibilities. He said, “Your new positions call for exhibition of a high sense of maturity, honesty, and transparency in the conduct of your affairs.” He further said that their appointment and swearing-in was part of the administration’s ongoing reforms to rejuvenate the judiciary and the system of governmence in Yobe.
