Aminu Nabegu and Olukunle Bamgbose have been awarded the title of Ambassador-In-Situ by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari
– The two officials were accorded the title after spending over 30 years in the service of the government
-Geoffrey Onyeama, the foreign affairs minister, challenged them to put in their best now that they have higher tasks

Two senior permanent secretaries, Aminu Nabegu and Olukunle Bamgbose, in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), have been elevated. They have been accorded Ambassador-In-Situ, a diplomatic title considered the highest rank and which entails sending an official as a long-term representative to a country.

Daily Trust reports that the announcement was made in a statement by the assistant director in charge of press, Mohammed Nakorji. The statement released in Abuja said the two officials had put in their best of over 30 years in the service of the government and had discharged their responsibilities very well. The statement added that despite their efforts, the duo had been denied the title. The statement quoted the foreign affairs minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, as approving the titles conferred on the senior staff.

Onyeama reportedly advised the beneficiaries to exhibit high sense of responsibilities associated with it just as he congratulated them.

Recall that it was earlier reported that President Buhari approved the immediate deployment of four of the newly-appointed ambassadors-designate to their areas of task.ml
