With the new five aircraft, which were delivered to the NAF Base inaKaduna, 10 trainer aircraft have now been supplied by Pakistan to Nigeria to aid the counter-terrorism operations. Our correspondent learnt that an Ilyushin 76 Strategic Airlifter brought the five aircraft while they were already being assembled by a team of Pakistani and Nigerian technicians for test flying and a formal induction. The air force had on July 14, 2017, taken delivery of the first batch of Super Mushshak Aircraft which were inducted and deployed for primary training of the war pilots. The NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Olatokunbo Adesanya, said the new aircraft would help to prosecute the counter-insurgency operations in the North-East as well as other forms of criminalities in the country. He said, “NAF on Sunday took delivery of the second batch of the Super Mushshak trainer aircraft that the Federal Government ordered from Pakistan. The Chief of Logistics at NAF Headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Bello Garba, received the new aircraft on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar. “Officials of the Nigeria Customs Service and the Nigeria Immigration Service were also present to ensure necessary documentation. The newly-delivered aircraft, which are capable of being used for acrobatic training, are new and fitted with digital glass cockpit. The aircraft form the final batch of the 10 Super Mushshak whose procurement was initiated by the Federal Government in 2016. “The delivery of the aircraft would go a long way in effectively prosecuting the counter-insurgency operations in the North-East as well as other forms of criminalities in the country. Furthermore, some air force personnel had undergone training in Pakistan as instructor pilots and technicians on the new aircraft.”]]>
