The Onitsha Branch of the NBA has published a disclaimer on the alleged several newspaper publications inviting the Public to a Two- day Seminar and Human Rights awards presentation, said to be organised by “Human Rights Defenders Nig” in conjunction with the Nigeria Bar Association, Onitsha Branch.
According to the Press release signed by the branch’s Chairman and Secretary, the Eastern Branch of the NBA has no hand in the supposed event as there is no plan of such to be executed by the branch.
TheNigerialawyer recalls that Amnesty International had earlier kicked against the alleged plan of Onitsha NBA to award some persons in the said event. According to AI, the recipients of the accolades do not deserve the honour being persons with record of human rights violation.
