Following non-sighting of the crescent moon to mark the end of Ramadan 1445AH, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has announced that fasting will continue tomorrow (Tuesday).

According to a press release by Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to Sultanate Council Prof Sambo Wali Junaidu, there is no report of moon sighting in any part of the country, hence Tuesday April 9 is the 30th day of Ramadan 1445AH.

The statement further added that Sultan and President General Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) have declared Wednesday, April 10, as the first day of Shawwal 1445AH (day of EId- E-Fitr).

It said Sultan felicitated Nigerian Muslim Ummah and wishes them Allah’s guidance and blessings.

He urged Muslims to continue to pray for peace, progress and development of the country.
