The Chairman of Body of Benchers and Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Dr. I. T. Tanko Muhammad, CFR has directed the postponement of the meeting of the Body of Benchers and inspection of the Benchers Hall initially slated for 26th of March, 2020.

TheNigerianLawyer (TNL) gathered that the postponement is in compliance with the directive by the Federal Government as a way of curbing the spread of Coronavirus that gathering of a large number of people be avoided.
The Notice sent to the members of the Body of Benchers signed by the Secretary of the Body, Mrs. H. A. Turaki reads in part:
“Consequently, in order to safeguard the health of all members, it has become expedient to postpone the meeting and inspection until such a time that it will be safe to hold.
“We regret all the inconveniences caused by this postponement. A new date will be communicated in due course.”
