A Kano State High Court sitting in Gezawa Local Government Area yesterday vacated an order it earlier issued for the arrest of the chairman of the state’s Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado.

The presiding judge, Justice Muhammad Yahaya, vacated the order at the resumed trial in a N100 million case involving the commission and one Hajiya Farida Tahir.

Tahir and the immediate Accountant General of the state, Aisha Mohammed Bello are being investigated over alleged misappropriation of N100m public fund.

Justice Yahaya also referred the case to the Chief Judge, Justice Nura Sagir, for redirection to another court.

Counsel to the respondent, Usman Umar Fari, who asked the court to vacate the order, said the respondent’s failure to appear on July 15 and 18 was not deliberate.
