The suspects were among hundreds of pro-Biafra supporters who protested in Port Harcourt over the detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the proprietor of the purported radio Biafra. The accused persons were Wednesday charged for conspiracy and treasonable felony against the Nigerian state. In a three-count charge brought by prosecutor A. A. Ajagha, they were said to have carried out an unlawful demonstration and destroyed the Nigerian flag as well as chanting war songs, an offence punishable by law.
