A Kaduna State High Court has granted bail to activist Mahdi Shehu, who was arrested for allegedly sharing a misleading viral video.

The bail was set at ₦3 million, with two prominent clerics standing as sureties.

Presiding over the case, Justice Murtala J. Zubair stated that the bail decision was grounded in legal principles and the evidence presented before the court, emphasizing that Shehu remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.

As part of the bail conditions, Shehu is required to surrender his international passport, seek court approval before traveling, and report monthly to security officials.

The court warned that failure to comply with these conditions would result in his continued detention.
