Bello made the call at the opening ceremony of 22nd Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN sports competition at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja, yesterday. He urged that the spirit of sportsmanship should permeate every facet of individual and national life of Nigerians to approach issues with open minds devoid of “do or die” inclinations. The governor commended organizers of the games, the National Sports Association for Judiciary (NASAJ) for sustaining the competition for 22 years. He added that competition of such nature was worth supporting as it is aimed to improve togetherness among the judiciary family aside further development of sports in the country and pledged support of the state government. Speaking earlier, the Chef Justice of the Federation, Justice Mahmud Mohammed while declaring the competition open, commended the host state and NASAJ for their efforts. The CJN who was represented by Justice of Supreme Court, Justice Suleiman Galadima, said the competition was aimed at promoting mental and physical fitness and promoting the image of the Judiciary and its institutions through sports. The competition, according to him, also aims to encourage and strengthen the spirit of sportsmanship and sense of belonging among the relevant courts and Judiciary bodies and as well develop hidden talents of staff. Meanwhile, Kogi State Judiciary contingent won gold medal in the march past event while Federal High Court, Abuja and Supreme Court, Abuja won silver and bronze respectively.]]>
