This was contained in a statement issued by the Bauchi State Command of Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS), ASP Adam A. Jibrin it stated that the prisoners were released when the acting Chief Judge visited the prison. He said that the inmates were pardoned on grounds of ill health, old age and overstay in the prison. Kunaza congratulated the discharged inmates and advise them to be law abiding and avoid committing crimes that may bring them back to prison. On inmates having long term sentences, Kunaza said that he has written a memo to the State Government on the issue adding that he is confident the new administration will will soon decide on the matter. He thereby commended the ?prison authorities for their untiring effort of ensuring the welfare of the inmates. The Bauchi State Comptroller of Prisons, Alhaji Sidi Muhammad expressed his appreciation for the regular visits being paid by the Acting Chief Judge.
