Ayefele, Alaafin, others visit Ajimobi, seek resolution over Music House demolition

The development is a pointer to a permanent settlement of the crisis that led to the demolition of Ayefele’s Music House at Challenge area in Ibadan which both parties have proved their popularity and superiority positions. The building, which houses his radio station, Fresh F.M., was partially demolished on Sunday morning over alleged failure to regularize the structure’s building plan with the state government. The demolition has drawn condemnation from several quarters as well as elicited sympathy from members of the public, with many viewing the action as improper and an act of oppression. Both parties have also saturated the public space with their perspectives on the crisis in the last two weeks. While Ayefele has insisted that the action was politically motivated, Oyo State Government also proved that it followed due process in the acts leading to the partial demolition, stressing that the law of the land must be obeyed. The popular gospel musician who arrived the Governor’s Office, Secretariat, Ibadan at some few minutes past 11’o clock, came in company of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, some other traditional rulers in the state and a gubernatorial aspirant in the state, Mr. Olasunkanmi Tegbe. The two parties who held a closed-door meeting for several hours did not brief members of the press the outcome of the dialogue, but only informed that a committee has been set to fashion out ways to look into the matter with best solution.
